kids do this, because it probably will not happen again for months

doing that leads to this....a desert oasis!

and who can resist doing this...

...then the reality of how chilly the water is gets their attention- they live in the desert, they get cold when it dips down to 60 degrees!

so they run home to get warm and dry!
